Thermal Remediation

California American Exterminator works alongside you to develop a customized bed bug thermal remediation program specified for your situation

California American Exterminator uses a state-of-the-art Temp-Air Heat Remediation System®. This system uses large electric heaters (120 pounds, 420 volt) to generate the heat needed to treat an apartment. The heaters are placed in an infested room and powered by a generator located outside.

It's Effective. Our company understands that bed bugs are a sensitive issue, so we work alongside you to develop the best method of treatment for your situation. With a number of options to effectively get rid of bed bugs, it can become overwhelming when trying to decide which option would be best for you. Thermal Bed Bug Remediation, or heat treatment, is becoming an increasingly popular and sought after method of eliminating these difficult pests.

How It Works. During the process of a heat treatment our company brings in specially designed equipment that will raise the temperature of a residence to one hot enough to kill bed bugs. A bed bug can survive in temperatures up to 122°F, so during a heat treatment a home or apartment is brought to a temperature between 124°F and 140°F.  Our specialized bed bug team will place wireless temperature sensors throughout the residence to ensure the unit is reaching, and maintaining, a temperature hot enough to kill bed bugs. A heat treatment typically takes between six and eight hours, depending on the condition of the area being treated. During that time our trained professionals are dedicated completely to the treatment, returning to the unit every 15-20 minutes to move fans to circulate heat and ensure the entire home and its contents are being properly heated. Once the heat treatment is complete, you will receive a detailed report of the entire treatment process, which we record through our wireless sensors. We recommend a final chemical treatment of the residence for the most effective and longest-lasting results. Within 48 hours of the heat treatment, we also recommend a K-9 (canine) inspection to guarantee our services.
